Scheduling Appointments                                                                                                                           

Patients who have been seen in the office before can call to schedule their next appointment by calling the office during our regular business hours. For the office phone number, click here. For a list of our office hours, click here.

If you receive a recall postcard, reminding you to schedule a follow-up appointment, please contact the office at your earliest convenience to schedule that next appointment.

Please be aware that our schedule typically runs one to two weeks out.

Appointment Confirmation                                                                                                                          

We will call a patient three business days prior to a scheduled appointment to confirm the time and date.

If we can not contact the patient directly, we will leave a message, requesting the patient return our call to confirm the appointment.

We do not accept confirmations or cancellations left with our answering service, you must speak with our office directly.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy                                                                                                              

If you can not use the appointment that has been scheduled for you, please notify us as soon as possible, so that we may give this time to another patient.

We require 48-hours (business day) notice for all appointment cancellations. Cancellations should not be made with the answering service.

Seth W. Wharton, M.D. adheres to the following policy:
  1. There is a $25 charge for follow-up visit no shows and late cancellation, unless there is a declared state of emergency.
  2. There is a $50 charge for new patient or EMG's late cancellation or no-shows; this will have to be paid before another appointment is scheduled.
  3. Repeat instances will result in dismissal.

Prescriptions and Refill Requests Procedure                                                                                             

If you need renewals of your current prescriptions, please call the office during normal business hours, at least 48 hours  before you run out of medication. DO NOT leave prescription refill requests with the answering service after hours.

Your prescription will be sent to your pharmacy electronically, unless it is a controlled substance. Controlled substances can not be sent electronically. You will be required to pick the script up. Please allow enough time for this process.

If you are not up to date on your followup appointments, we ask that you make an appointment to be seen, at which time you can obtain your prescriptions.
